Privacy Policy

Restdawn turns breathing audio into sleep insights. We keep what we collect to a minimum — your recordings are processed in memory and never stored.

Last updated: June 29, 2026

Overview

Restdawn provides a REST API that classifies sleep stages and detects snoring and apnea events from a breathing recording. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect when you use the Restdawn website and API, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Restdawn you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Audio you send to the API

When you call an inference endpoint (for example POST /v1/sleep/stages or POST /v1/snore/detect), the breathing recording you upload is processed in memory to produce a result and is not written to persistent storage. Once the response is returned, the audio is discarded.

We do not use the audio you send to train or improve our models. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Account & API keys

To issue an API key we collect basic account information such as your email address and authentication credentials. We use this to authenticate requests, enforce rate limits and quotas, communicate service-related notices, and bill for usage where applicable.

Usage & technical data

For each request we log non-audio metadata such as the timestamp, endpoint, response status, request size, processing time, and the API key used. We use this to operate the service, monitor reliability and performance, prevent abuse, and meter usage. This data does not include the contents of your recordings.

Like most web services, our infrastructure may record standard technical information such as IP address and user-agent for security and diagnostics.

Data retention

Breathing recordings are not retained after a request completes. Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Request metadata is retained for a limited period for billing, security, and operational purposes, after which it is deleted or aggregated.

Security

Traffic to the API and website is encrypted in transit using TLS. API access requires a bearer token, and audio is handled only in memory during inference. No method of transmission or processing is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information at any time. You can rotate or revoke API keys from your dashboard, and you can close your account, after which we delete or anonymize associated data subject to legal and billing requirements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will revise the date below and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of Restdawn after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
